Q: Do you need a home phone to get DISH?
A: No, you do not need a home phone to set up DISH service.
Q: Does DISH bundle with Internet and phone services?
A: You can't go wrong when you bundle High-Speed Internet with DISH satellite TV. With dishNET, we have multiple plans available nationwide to fit your speed and data needs. Plus, save $10 per month when you bundle dishNET with a qualifying DISH satellite TV package. When it comes to your home phone needs, DISH has plenty of options for you. Q: Is DISH currently offering any promotions?
A: There are several DISH promotions available to new subscribers, depending on which qualifying package you select. Now, through 6/12/14, new subscribers will receive: three free months of premium programming on HBO, Starz, SHOWTIME, and Cinemax, three free months of BLOCKBUSTER @Home, and a free whole-home HD DVR upgrade. Even get HD free for 24 months. If you subscribe to America's Top 120 or higher you can get all this with the Hopper.
Q: Does DISH have a less expensive package?
A: DISH offers a variety of affordable programming packages, including a Flex TV plan with no contract for qualifying customers, as well as packages starting as low as $19.99/month.
Q: Do you need a debit or credit card to get service?
A: To get the best promotion, a debit or credit card from any major bank is required. There are credit requirements to qualify for select DISH Network promotions, but not all of them. A credit card is not required for Flex TV or needed for monthly payments. DISH still accepts check by mail. Another alternative would be to use your debit card to make payments. It is recommended, however, that you set up Autopay and/or paperless billing for the added convenience.
Q: Why do I need to give out my social security number?
A: A social security number is needed because with each professional installation, the average value of equipment is around $1,200 for the best promotion. This is part of the reason for the credit qualification.
Q: Do you have a retail store where I can speak with a live person?
A: We do not have a retail store, but we do have many sales associates available to take your call.
Q: How much does it cost to get the service started?
A: There is a $1 hold for the credit approval process, in addition to your first month's payment to get your service activated.

Q: What local channels are available in my area?
A: Local channels are available in over 210 local network markets, which represent 100% percent of U.S. homes with televisions. Just ask an agent to see what you will receive.
Q: Which package includes the channels I want to receive?
A: The quickest way to see which programming package includes the channels you are looking for is by viewing our DISH channel lineup.
Q: Where can I get a list of all international and foreign language channels?
A: Please visit our international programming page to see what foreign language channels are available.
Q: Is there an additional charge to receive local channels?
A: Local channels are included in most core programming packages.
Q: What will it cost to add another television to my package?
A: Depending on what type of receiver(s) is needed for your system, there may or may not be an additional cost. For example, if you want to connect two televisions using one standard dual room receiver, there is no additional cost. Q: How long does installation take?
A: Installation time varies depending on the number of TVs that are installed, but a general rule of thumb is two TV installations are completed in approximately 1 ½ hours and four TVs can be installed in 2 hours.
Q: How soon can my DISH be installed?
A: Most installations can be completed in 24-48 hours from the time of ordering.
Q: Will wiring be installed in my house just like the cable company does?
A: Yes, as needed. Most installations will be completed with new, high quality cabling for the clearest digital picture on your TV.
Q: Can my service be installed using my existing cable jack outlets in my wall?
A: If your existing cable jack outlet is of sufficient quality, our installers may be able to provide DISH service through it.


Q: What is the DISH Network Hopper and Joey?
A: The Hopper from DISH Network is a revolutionary new way to experience whole-home HDTV entertainment. The DISH Hopper and Joey, a client receiver, give you full HD DVR functionality on any TV in any room in the house and allows you to watch more hours of HD and SD programming than any other whole-home solution by cable and satellite TV service providers.  You can store up to 83 days of content!
Q: Can I upgrade to the DISH Network Hopper?
A: Current DISH customers can upgrade their DVR equipment to receive 1 Hopper and 3 Joeys. The DISH Hopper upgrade is offered to all new and qualifying former DISH customers.
Q: How much does the DISH Network Hopper and Joey cost?
A: The DISH Network Hopper price with 3 Joey client receivers is $99 upgrade fee but waived with qualifying packages. 
Q: Where is the DISH Network Hopper and Joey available?
The DISH Network Hopper HD DVR whole-home service is available only with DISH Network services in the United States and Puerto Rico. At this time, DISH Network and the DISH Hopper whole-home HD DVR service functionality is limited or not available in parts of Alaska and in Puerto Rico and United States Virgin Islands.
Q: Can I watch 3D movies on the DISH Network Hopper?
A: Yes, customers can watch 3D movies on the DISH Hopper with DISH 3D. 3D-compatible equipment is required.
Q: Are apps available on the DISH Network Hopper?
A: DISH Hopper apps are available including TV apps for the Game Finder, Weather Channel, MSNBC, NBC Sports, Access Hollywood, Pandora® and more.

A: A few of the featured DISH Hopper specifications include a massive 2 terabyte hard drive that allows you to record over 500 hours of HD programming and 3 satellite tuners for watching or recording up to 3 live HD programs at once.
